Man commits suicide in the center of Athens Greece

A 77 year old male, a retired pharmacist, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a 45 calibre this morning, April the 4rth 2012, in the center of Athens (constitution square otherwise known as Syntagma).

The elder gentleman stipulated in a letter that he was unable to sustain his standard of living, due to the severe pension cuts brought about by the Greek Government Austerity measures, and that he was forced to seek food and items in trash cans.

Not wanting to become a burden to his children and posterity, the elder man decided to take his life.

Violent demonstrations ensued in the center of Athens, following the suicide, and the wall street generated world economic crisis rages on...ΚΥΡΙΟ ΤΕΥΧΟΣ
