Six Practical Strategies to Improve Your Online Courses

taking an online course
While many institutions adopt online instruction as a means of meeting students' needs and expanding curricular opportunities, the challenges of converting a face-to-face course into an online one can be numerous for those responsible for actually teaching the course.

To effectively teach online, instructors must have a broader focus and explicitly build online opportunities that foster student interaction with the course content and with their peers. Instructors must provide a structured learning experience that guides students developmentally through course content and utilize a variety of assessment techniques that align with course objectives. They also must utilize multi-modal instructional approaches to insure that all students learn and provide feedback to scaffold student learning.
